Job Summary

As a carpenter at Renovation by Design, your responsibilities include the successful completion of the jobs given to you, this includes completing jobs on time, in budget, and maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and professional communication. Carpenters perform various trades such as demolition, framing, basic HVAC / Electric / Plumbing, drywall hanging, taping, finishing, floor installation, finish carpentry (doors, trim, case, base, shoe, crown, cabinet installation), siding and exterior door and window installations.

Working Hours: 40 hours plus (8:00 – 4:30 typically). Must be available to project managers, trade partners, and clients. Full time, hourly position.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Detail oriented and accurate

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years

Responsibilities for Carpenter:

  • Demolition
  • Framing and insulation
  • Basic HVAC / Venting / Electric / Plumbing
  • Drywall – hanging, taping, mudding, sanding
  • Floor installation
  • Installation of cabinets, crown and toe kicks
  • Installation of interior and exterior doors
  • Installation of base, shoe, crown, trim
  • Work with various hand tools
  • Update Builder Trend with daily logs
  • Interact and communicate with clients, managers, and subcontractors throughout the job
  • Handle client requests, questions, and inquiries, per company policy

Job Summary

Excellent opportunity for a project manager with minimum five years’ experience in residential remodeling. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple job sites with employees and trade contractors. As the front line in achieving company goals, the project manager must focus on product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Successful completion of jobs which include being on time and on budget
  • Pre, post and weekly job meetings
  • Maintaining schedules
  • Approval of job invoices and time cards
  • Collection of customer payments
  • Creating change orders and getting approvals
  • Effective communication with clients, trades and office staff
  • Maintaining safe and clean job sites

Candidate Requirements:

  • Knowledge of construction methods and various trades such as demolition, framing, basic HVAC/Elect/Plumbing, drywall hanging, taping and finishing, floor installation, finish carpentry (trim, case, base, shoe, crown, cabinet installation), window, door and siding installation
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with the Client, Manager, and Subcontractors throughout the job
  • Self-starter and independent worker with attention to detail
  • Quality control experience and basic knowledge of applicable building codes
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot

Other Requirements

  • Lead Safe Certification a plus
  • Experience with BuilderTrend is a plus

Job Overview

As a Project Manager at Renovation by Design, your responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. Oversee and document all aspects of the specific jobs you are working on. Keep clients informed the entire way. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Responsibilities for Project Manager

  • Pre job start:
    • Review Design Agreement documentation to make sure plans match scope, attend trade walkthrough and perform and fill out required forms lead testing, as needed
    • Review Building Agreement documentation and attend office handoff meeting with Designer and Production Manager
    • Attend and run Pre Construction meetings with clients and designer. (PM to become the main contact for client at this point)
    • Schedule weekly on-site meetings with owners to discuss customer concerns, job status/ schedule, change orders, and upcoming payments
  • Job start:
    • Let production coordinator know to order dumpster or bagster, as needed
    • Ensure laborer install’s yard signs (if owner/HO approves)
    • Meet trades and employees onsite to review scope
    • Post demo checklist/ framing protocol (i.e., Cabinet layouts, verify important walls and ceilings for plumb square & level)
    • Daily communication with clients, trades, and internal team members
    • Daily job site visits to verify clean and safe conditions and post photos to Buildertrend. Also verify jobsite postings
    • Monitor jobsite quality from subcontractors and team members
    • Weekly meeting with client
    • Daily monitoring of Buildertrend (i.e., to-do’s, daily logs, messaging, and time clock)
    • Daily update of schedules including payment due dates
    • Schedule and meet inspectors as needed
    • Collect owner payments as scheduled
    • Create, present, and execute Change Orders made to the project scope
    • Create completion lists, add and adjust in Buildertrend “to do” section
  • Substantial completion:
    • Schedule and attend Substantial completion meeting with the client
    • Preform job closeouts to include removing extra tools and materials, removing signs and lockbox, and schedule final walk thru with designer and owner
    • Return or schedule the return of all extra jobsite materials in a timely manner for credit
  • Other items:
    • Approve time records daily, which includes proper job and cost codes used
    • Approve invoices weekly. Verify work is complete to our quality standards. Address
      invoices whether they are in/out of budget. If out of budget, address the reason why
    • Verify Trade partners and internal team are following safe work practices and Covid Policy
    • Cover for another P.M. in case of emergency, vacation, etc.
    • Resolve customer conflicts regarding scope of work
    • Cost toc omplete monthly
    • Collect and submit receipts weekly

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designing using Chief Architect and 20/20 design
  • Taking field dimensions and developing floor plans with elevations
  • Handling multiple projects from initial design through installation
  • Keeping current on products offered in our showroom as well as keeping up with trends in the industry
  • Travel as needed for training with cabinetry and materials partners
  • Showroom hours during the week and some Saturdays

Qualifications:

  • Trained in interior design/layout
  • Must be proficient in 20/20 design software. Chief Architect & AutoCAD (a plus)
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen and bath design and cabinetry specifications
  • Required to have 3+ years’ experience in kitchen and bath design
  • A detail-oriented personality a must
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Basic understanding of local building codes
  • Ability to multitask is a must
  • Understanding of BuilderTrend a plus
